Is entering a junior college in Singapore a must before studying in the universities?

Currently, I’m studying at a private school in the Philippines, and I’m in the 3rd yr. high school. i wish to pursue my college in Singapore. So my question is:
1. Is there a need to study in junior colleges before studying in a university?
2. What’s the use of junior college?
3. Could I practice medicine after studying medicine in a college of Singapore?(Because in the case here, if you’re not a citizen here, you could not take the licensure exam)
Thanks so much!!

    1. Well, Since you are a foreigner, you will fall under the category of international applicants and hence, you will not have to study in junior colleges here if you “have completed or are completing high school, that is, at least twelve years of general education in the year of application”. There is a list of a acceptable high school qualifications listed in each of the university’s website (E.g. for the National University of Singapore, http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/international/admissionreq/BYA-admissionreq.html#qualification ).

    2. Junior college basically prepares local students for the GCE A Levels examinations, which is an entry requirement for admission to the university for locals ( http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/pre-u/ )

    3. You should be able to, since you would be holding a Singapore degree, which would be recognized by the authorities… though you will also need an employment pass. You can read more information here ( http://www.moh.gov.sg/mohcorp/careers.aspx?id=254 ).
