Why is satellite TV banned in Singapore?

Some open forums has mentioned reasons like Singaporeans do not have control over watch they watch (i.e. watching other country’s channels). When asked MDA, they said that it is because of racial issues. I mean if the satellite TV service is controlled over a company (i.e. astro in Malaysia and DirecTV in US), then why is satellite TV banned in Singapore?

Reasons include racist, violence, etc but i was told that whenever it concerns whole nation, it will include political n $,$$$,$$$,$$$ for government. I was told we cannot talk freely on political issues , only at certain place in Singapore and our speech at these places are also monitored closely.
